Supporting our Armed Forces is a matter of pride at Traffix. Be that honouring veterans through our work with local British Legions on remembrance parades, to offering service leavers a career pathway via the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme.
Our latest ‘call of duty’ was in response to a request for support at grass roots level. Following an introduction via Samantha Brettell, who has been key to our work with the military, we’ve teamed up with Shropshire Army Cadet Force. We’re helping them facilitate the fantastic work they do with youngsters in local communities throughout Shropshire.
Giving a little back and thanking cadet adult instructors, who give their time and passion voluntarily has a special meaning to Traffix Operations Director and former Cadet Derek Vinning…
“I had a tough upbringing, we didn’t have a lot, however, everybody is equal in the cadets. When I joined I felt at home instantly and part of an extended family. The opportunities to improve myself at such a young age and the skills I learnt was invaluable. It’s no exaggeration to say that the cadets helped make me who I am today.
“I would like to place on record our thanks to Samantha Brettell, Deputy Lieutenant of Shropshire, not just for introducing us to Shropshire Army Cadets, but for her help and mentorship in securing our Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award. Samantha is now working closely with us through her Prevent consultancy, supporting our workforce with wellbeing, diversity and inclusion issues.”
