A conversation with a client during a health and safety meeting led us to ask the question: ‘Can frames which hold signs be redesigned to prevent the potential for fingers to be trapped?’
Unfortunately, two members of our client’s workforce had received injuries due to an open area in the frame almost like a serrated edge. We noted this issue and contacted our frame designers. Between us we have created a new smaller frame which features a cover to eliminate the possibility of fingers becoming trapped.
Because our new frames are smaller, they are lighter in weight which means not only are they easier for operatives to carry, a larger number can now be transported on vehicles.
Kerry Draper is Traffix Health, Safety and Facilities Director: “This is another example of how we add value to our clients beyond what is expected. When we shared our new frame with the client they were delighted and will be adopting it moving forwards.
“There are variations already in use within the industry, but they are not as simple and effective as our design. I expect the industry will embrace this new design, we’ll certainly be sharing it with other clients and partners during future health and safety events.”
