Can you describe the scale of your business?
Founded in 1948, Fitzgerald works across a broad spectrum of industry sectors, offering a wide range of specialisms from project development of highways construction through to high-specification public realm, we have the capability to deliver schemes across the UK with a contract value of up to £12 million.
Fitzgerald are a specialist contractor with our values and culture being shaped by our desire to exceed our Clients expectations. We are highly knowledgeable and experienced in our niche civil engineering discipline and offer our clients a single point of project delivery through our directly employed workforce. We adopt a proactive approach in everything that we do, we are client focussed and provide added value before, during and post construction, at each stage offering our clients and partners a service that puts their needs at the heart of our approach.
What’s the most challenging aspect of running your projects?
The schemes we undertake have many complexities and challenges and the skills of our specialist supply chain are key in us being able to deliver value to our Clients and in the successful completion of our Projects.
Traffic Management is a key element of the schemes that we undertake, where we must ensure the safety of our workforce and the public, whilst causing the minimum disruption to the travelling public and controlling cost and programme. By working collaboratively with Traffix we are able to offer our Clients a single point of delivery for their projects and offer solutions that exceed their expectations.
How did your partnership with Traffix begin?
Our partnership has evolved and developed over many years, moving on from the delivery of schemes on site, to working collaboratively through Early Contractor Involvement to enable both parties to offer Clients a greater service and ultimately securing more projects. This ‘seamless approach’ and collaborative working is integral to our business and is fully embraced by the Traffix Team.
What’s important to you when working with suppliers/partners?
75% of the contracts that we undertake are repeat business through our existing client base and long-term Framework agreements. We believe strongly that building, developing and maintaining long-term relationships with our clients and Supply Chain is the key to a successful business. We believe Traffix have the same values and philosophy, we see this on a day to day basis, through their assistance in planning and estimating, their willingness to be part of the Fitzgerald Team to find solutions for our Clients, and most critically in ensuring our workforce and the travelling public remain safe on all of our sites
